 |  Unlocked Treo 650 from Palm.com It seems that Palm.com currently has a great deal for buying their Palm Treo 650. One option is to buy the Treo "unlocked" with a case and car charger. I was wondering if someone can kind of expalin what unlocked really means and if Verizon Wireless would accept an unlocked phone. From what I understand, unlocked means that the phone isn't locked to one carrier, and isntead of having your tipical 2 year contract, you can have a monthly service instead. Is this correct? Thank you so much for the help. |

  | The unlocked phones from Palm are GSM based, meaning you could use the Treo 650 on any GSM network. In the US, an example would be Cingular or T-Mobile. Verizon and Sprint use a different technology called CDMA and you wouldn't be able to use a GSM phone on this network. Hope this helps. -Chris
