Finally got update to work on Mac
I spent 2 hours on the phone with Palm today trying to get the update to work. I started out using Missing Sync, uninstalled thinking it was the problem. Come to find out, I don't think it was. Palm instructions are screwed up. AFTER you do the install of the prc file onto the Treo, go to the Treo's applications and scroll down to the Treo (I think that's what it was called) icon and click on it. It will automatically start updating the Treo software. BUT BE SURE that you have your Treo's charger on hand. You MUST have it to complete the update!! Good luck!

Verizon Update
Verizon needs to make the MemoryMgr.c file more stable. My phone resets every so often and it is not because of any applications. They had me type in #*#377, Dial, and this displays the last reset log, and says what caused the reset. This is quite disappointing for this to come from VZW considering their network is rock-solid. Maybe, the Windows Treo will work better.

Try the *228 update- option 2- mine did the same thing until I did this.

I did mine on a Mac exactly as posted on update site. Worked like a charm. Only issue I has was I didnt know how to reset my BT headset when I was done. What I have noticed so far is clearer phone calls using my BT headset, at my end and the person I am calling.

Since I installed the 1.04 update, if I click the "Mail" icon on the Treo 650, it reboots everytime. Following the instructions above concerning the reset log, this is what I get:
System Error Log:
A reset was caused on 10/6/05 at 5:59 pm while running "Mail":
DataMgr.c, Line:11439, Index out of range
Anyone know what this might mean or how I can troubleshoot it? Or, is it better to call VZW support and see what they can figure out?
The only non-default app that I have installed is an expired 15 day trial of MunduIM.
This rebooting didn't happen before the update.

After calling VZW WDTS and then having them get Palm support on the phone, turns out a renaming of my "backup" and "Versamail" folders, and re-installation of Versamail fixed the problem. Of course, prior to these steps was the hard resetting to rid the T650 of the possible corrupted data.
So, I am good to go now and hitting the "Mail" icon on the Palm desktop (T650 screen) does not cause a reboot.
Thanks,
Kurt

Verizon Update 1.04
The VZW 1.04 Update gave me a few different problems. I followed the directions EXACTLY. No continuous loops, no resets, but it was actually very stable like it should be, but I ran into a problem with syncing my data back onto the phone.
when I went to have the data to be put back onto my phone, everything went back except for three things:
- Calendar
- Contacts
- Tasks
I have a 2GB SD card with BackupBuddy VFS on it which saved me. I don't know why these three things didn't go with everything else, but after re-doing the update, doing a hard-reset, and contacting Verizon Wireless/Palm I just got nowhere. VZW/Palm basically put there hands up in the air and told me it was my computer's fault since I built it and not like a Dell(built to order). My computer is perfectly fine. It isn't one of the Dell's, Gateway's, HP's, etc. that are loaded with useless software that hog resources and bog down the system.
I just wish VZW/Palm could have helped me. Maybe they can help me lower the rates on my data plan? Nah, I am dreaming.
