vz in store services - Treo Forums

good morning everyone,
i just wanted to know if you can go to the vz store in your area and get the firmware update(1.05) installed by a tech there. i'm leary of doing it on my own(alright, i'm downright scared!) and would rather pay someone else to take care of it. my other question is, if they can do it, does the software on my pc need to be updated? or rather, i 'm sure it needs to be updated, but can the update be downloaded to my pc without updating the phone?(since i theoretically will have had it done)
Did you get all that?

It's really hit or miss. If you have a tech in your local store who's knowledgeable about the Treo, then go for it. Given how clueless most big box drones are, though, I'd be leery of handing my phone over.

i hear ya about knowledgeable techs. i guess it's just like anything else. it's all a crapshoot, just like life.

On the bright side, if some Verizon drone bricks your phone, then they owe you a new one. Since the 650 isn't being sold any more, the replacement might be a shiny new 700P.

Doesn't matter. If their tech renders your phone unusable, then they have to replace it. You may have to rant a little...
