    Default Warning Verizon Update 1.05a

I did the update to 1.05a and I am still trying to recover. I have my phone back, update to 1.05a but I cannot synch any of my palm data as of yet. I'm waiting for word from Palm.

They warn you to disable certain applications BEFORE the upgrade. In my case this includes UninstallManager and VolumeCarePro. I thought I did but still have a trashed Palm.

They also tell you to remove the SD card before the upgrade. It took me several tries to be able set things up so I could synch without the SD card in. The upgrade includes a mandatory synch with the SD card removed. Palm provides little or no guidance on these options.

when i did it i did a backup (i use NVBackup),
    removed the SD Card
    Did A hard Reset
Hot Sync'd to a temp username
    installed the update
    Hard reset again
restored the backup i'd made to my SD Card.

No Problems yet and it's been over a week.

Problems can happen on an upgrade from 1.03-VRZ to 1.05a-VRZ.
You have to upgrade to 1.04-VRZ FIRST, then to 1.05a_VRZ.

i did the upgrade from 1.01 to 1.05 and had no problems. It may just be the phone or a certain app in the phone.
    Take care,
    Ron
