Palm confirmed they will not be shipping a Linux-based Treo smartphone until next year sometime. Earlier this year, CEO Ed Colligan announced that Palm Treo smartphones running the Linux OS would be released by the end of 2007.

Palm confirmed they will not be shipping a Linux-based Treo smartphone until next year sometime. Earlier this year, CEO Ed Colligan announced that Palm Treo smartphones running the Linux OS would be released by the end of 2007.

"We will deliver some new smartphone products through the rest of this calendar year on Windows Mobile and Palm OS," he said. "Products based on the new Linux platform will not [arrive] until some time next year."
