Verizon Palm Pre 2 Coming February 17th?

Remember the Palm Pre 2? The phone announced in October of last year for Verizon Wireless. If the screenshot of a Verizon inventory system rings true, the Palm Pre 2 will land on Verizon Wireless on February 17th and will be priced at $100 after rebate. That’s a full four months after the initial announcement.

Verizon Palm Pre 2

To say the Palm Pre 2 is late to the party would be an understatement. With all the hype surrounding next week’s big Think Big event, we have to wonder if Palm is going to deliver that superphone it so desperately needs. We’re stating the obvious, but won’t the Palm Pre 2 get suffocated by the Verizon iPhone, not to mention a shelf filled with Android devices. Worse yet, this release date comes after the Verizon iPhone launch on February 10th, after the HTC Thunderbolt release on February 13th and after Valentine’s Day.

Say it ain’t so. The only thing worse in recent history was Verizon’s decision to target soccer moms.

Palm Pre Plus Back At Verizon

The Palm Pre Plus had gone missing from Verizon’s website last week, prompting many to think that perhaps they were making room for the forthcoming Palm Pre 2. It looks as if the Palm Pre Plus is back online again at Verizon, so again we’re in a holding pattern waiting for the Pre 2. Still no official release date or reviews, but we have seen a rumored November 11th date. When we hear something, concrete or otherwise, we’ll pass it along.

Rumor: Palm Pre 2 Launch Scheduled for November 11th

Earlier today, Palm announced the Verizon Palm Pre 2. While there are a few pre-production units out there, the announced release date was “in the coming months“. According to Droid Life via everythingandroid, the Palm Pre 2 will launch with a group of Android devices on November 11th. Sounds plausible to us considering Verizon will likely want to take advantage of the holiday rush. Going back to Palm’s announcement, coming months sounds more like December.

Poll: US based Palm owners, who is your wireless carrier?

Today’s announcement of the Palm Pre 2 coming to Verizon is great news for those who prefer big red. Of course, it was only a few months ago that we saw Verizon release the Palm Pre Plus, which offered improvements over of the original Palm Pre. No doubt Verizon is the largest US wireless carrier, but how does that translate to the current install base of Palm fanatics, most of whom are desperate for an update from the original Palm Pre that dates back to June of 2009. Time to break out the polls and ask our US based readers, “Who is your current wireless provider?” Are you considering a jump to Verizon for the Palm Pre 2 or holding out hope for an updated model from either Sprint or AT&T. Let us know in the comments.

Verizon To Get Palm Pre 2?

Remember that Palm Pre 2 we saw on SFR’s site last week. As it turns out, it appears that Verizon will be carrying the Palm Pre 2.  Engadget received a screenshot of an internal training that clearly shows a blurb about “what’s new with Palm WebOS and key features of the Palm Pre 2“. That’s gotta hurt Sprint customers who have been patiently waiting for a new Sprint webOS phone, but perhaps we’ll see more carriers offering up Palm’s latest and greatest. How about you? Due for your new every 2?

Verizon Offering BOGO on Palm Pre Plus, Palm Pixi Plus and others

Verizon’s previous BOGO (buy one, get one free offer) allowed for a free Palm Pixi Plus with any Palm Pre Plus purchase. Both required a 2-year commitment, but it certainly was a good deal. Verizon has sweetened the pot today, offering up the Palm Pre Plus as one of the eligible phones in their BOGO program. Starting today, you can receive a free Palm Pre Plus with the purchase of a Palm Pre Plus. 2 year contracts are required for both, but you are out the door with two Palm Pre Plus phones for $149.99.
