In late September, Palm, Microsoft and Verizon announced the forthcoming release of the Treo 700. This is the first Palm
device to run the Windows Mobile OS. The new Treo is scheduled for release during the first quarter of 2006. It has been speculated that
we could see the release as early as January.

Verizon has worked hand in hand with both Palm and Microsoft on the development of the Treo 700. The new Treo was designed
to be compatible with Verizon’s ultra-fast EV-DO network. This network will enable the Treo to reach broadband speeds.

The following are the confirmed specifications:

  • 64MB Memory
  • Bluetooth
  • Windows Mobile 5.0
  • EV-DO compatible
  • One Megapixel Camera

Although not confirmed, it has been speculated that the screen resolution will be 240×240.
