Let’s hope that going forward carriers are a little quicker on the take. In any event, get to updating and let us know how webOS 1.4.5 works for you.
I downloaded WebOS 1.4.5 for Verizon Pre Plus and installed it successfully. Then my PDF view crashed often, I couldn’t send a PDF attachment via email, and the Smart Inbox wasn’t available even though the setting was ON in preferences. I did Erase Apps & Data, and that allowed me to send PDF attachments via email, but the other problems persisted. Then I ran Webos Doctor successfully but that didn’t fix the problems. So now the PDF view still crashes often and the Smart Inbox is still not available even though the setting was ON in preferences. I chatted with Tech Support and they had me sent the log to the engineers. The Tech Support guy thought that the problems were due to the WebOs 1.4.5 update, and Palm might need to release a patch. Does anybody have similar issues?
There is definitely something corrupting with the WebOS 1.4.5 upgrade. I too have experienced problems with some applications since the WebOS 1.4.5 was installed on my old phone when it was released. Notes in my address book started to appear with the html codes displayed, completely garbling the appearance of the notes. Also, the GPS function on Google Map stopped working. Eventually, applications such as browsers refused to launch entirely. I took the phone to my VerizonWireless Store; they could not fix the problem and gave me a new Palm pre Plus as it was still under warranty. The new phone worked fine until webOS was updated from 1.4.1 to 1.4.5. Then, the address book notes are garbled and GPS/location service function froze anew!
