PC Magazine theorizes that perhaps Palm would “ditch the keyboard” and deliver an on-screen keyboard like the iPhone. A physical QWERTY keyboard is one of the differentiating factors, so we’re not sure if this would be a good move for Palm. If there were an option for an on-screen keyboard (in addition to the physical QWERTY), then perhaps you’d give end users the best of both worlds.
There are certainly more webOS devices in the pipeline and Verizon seems to be in line to release one early next year. So does a $99 Palm Eos make sense? Where does that leave the Centro or is the Palm Eos/Pixie meant to be the upgrade path? Is the Palm Eos the phone that will ultimately take on the iPhone?
