Missing Sync Support in Tiger

Missing Sync Support in Tiger

By: Christopher Meinck

The countdown for Mac fans has officially begun as April 29th will bring the release of the Tiger or Mac OS version 10.4. As with any major upgrade, it’s important to check for updates to your applications. Luckily for Palm OS Mac users, the Missing Sync for Palm OS, version 4.0.4, is compatible with Tiger.

Although the iSync Palm Conduit v1.2 does not work with Tiger, an updated iSync Palm Conduit is included with the new OS. For instructions on how to enable Palm synchronization with iSync in Tiger, and for detailed information about synchronizing with iCal and Address Book in Tiger, please visit the Mark/Space knowledgebase.

The Internet Sharing feature of The Missing Sync, which allows supported Palm Powered devices to use a Mac’s connection to the Internet, may not function properly under Tiger. Mark/Space will address this issue and has promised a free 4.0.5 update which will be available soon through their website.

Other Mac conduits for Palm Powered devices may also be affected by Tiger. As testing of specific third-party conduits continues, they will continually update their list of supported conduits.
