Palm, Inc. , a leader in mobile computing, today announced that the Palm Treo 650 smartphone is now available in Peru from Claro, one of the country’s leading cellular operators.

Available in Claro’s retail stores throughout Peru with a variety of voice and data plans, the Treo 650 is an all-in-one quad-band smartphone specially designed for working with EDGE (Enhanced Data for Global Evolution) networks. It combines a compact full-featured mobile phone with email, a Palm OS(R) organizer, messaging, Internet access and a digital camera, enabling users to organize and simplify their personal and professional lives in just one device.

Treo 650’s advanced features and benefits include the following:

  • Support for direct corporate email access to Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 using Palm’s VersaMail email software;
  • Vibrant, easy-to-read 320×320 display;
  • Non-volatile memory and removable battery;
  • Integrated Bluetooth technology for communicating with compatible headsets, car kits, computers and printers equipped with Bluetooth technology;
  • Improved camera for better low-light shots, with video-capture capabilities;
