The rumors have been fast and furious over the past week or so about companies potentially looking to take over Palm. Today, we get news that Palm is seeking bids for the company. Taiwan’s HTC and China’s Lenovo have both taken an interested and may submit a bid. Dell is apparently not interested. Palm has secured Goladman Sachs Inc. and Qatalyst Partners to help the process.
All the companies about had no comment.
It’s unclear how a potential sale would affect current Palm webOS owners. The motive behind the purchase (webOS, patents) would determine the fate of Palm’s new operating system. On the flipside, what happens if Palm cannot find an interested party?
