Angry Birds Seasons Coming to webOS

One thing that iPhone, Android and webOS users can agree on, their love of Angry Birds. Now it appears that Rovio Mobile is going to give some of that love back to webOS fans with the release of Angry Birds Seasons. No official word on when it’ll hit the App Catalog, but Rovio let us know on Twitter that it’s “almost there“. Those pigs are in trouble!

Palm Announces Winners of PDK Hot Apps Contest

Palm last night announced the winners of their PDK Hot Apps contest, where developers would be rewarded with cold hard cash for apps that top the charts. No surprise that Rovio’s Angry Birds was the winner of the paid apps portion of the contest. As for the free apps, Natenai Ariyatrakool’s Glow Hockey was also a big winner. Both will receive $100,000.

Get your catapults ready, AngryBirds webOS is imminent!

I posted a while back about RovioMobile saying that they were considering porting their app to our beloved platform. Well today, me and my mucker @benfysh on twitter came at the dev like a two pronged attack and Mr AngryBirds confirmed that the hold up has been due to issues with the game on the Pixi, which need ironing out. Of course, I gave the dev a gentle nudge to say I had no problem with him pushing the Pre release out and releasing the Pixi version at a later date ;)  He also confirmed that the webOS version will be receiving the newest level packs 2 and 3, and will be updating all his mobile versions in-line with one another!

Angry Birds coming to webOS?

Some fantastic news dropped today in the webOS world. RovioMobile, the developer of the infamous iPhone game Angry Birds today tweeted this little nugget of joy which has brought a wave of excitement across the community:-

“For all you Palm WebOS fans out there: If enough people want it, we’ll make it. http://tinyurl.com/AngryBirdsforPalm

Yes people, this means that this great game could very well be soon making its way to our fantastic platform! Not a fan of Angry Birds?  Well, don’t be too underwhelmed. The scale of this notorious game, if ported of course, will almost certainly open the eyes of many, many top developers that have yet to either notice webOS or take it seriously. Which means a very strong potential for more fantastic apps being ported to our loving Pre’s and Pixi’s. Morever this will be sure to highlight the simplicity of Palm’s PDK and how easy it is for developers to port their existing apps to webOS. Perhaps developers are even unaware that it is now free to develop for our beloved platform, with Palm scrapping the $50 app submission fee back in June, and also dropping their $99 developer sign-up fee for a limited time only!
